Shameless Faucet Showoffery

The Challenges of Replacing a Faucet in a Tight Space

Total Install Time: 2 hours

This faucet is installed in my RV, an '89 Toyota Dolphin, which has VERY limited space to access under the sink! The retaining rings on the old faucet were SO tight that with the contorted position required to even reach them I thought I'd never get them off! Removing the sink wasn't an option as it had been caulked into place. I was finally able to loosen them with channel-locks on one of the spin tabs (no room to actually grasp the ring!). Once the old faucet was removed, the new Peerless faucet went in easily, taking only a matter of minutes … though I didn't install the pop-up drain (not sure if it would fit my RV sink).

Tip: This is a bathroom faucet in my RV kitchen because I needed a 4 inch centerset. I would recommend considering a bar/prep faucet for the higher arc since the sinks are so shallow.
